While We Wait - Buy Local!
As usual, I've been lax on updating this blog. I really should have, by now, finished my series on how to steal from the stores.
In the meantime, I provided below some free episodes of two television shows; I think most of them are no longer available. Right now, I'm going to provided some complimentary content. Below is another article by Tyler Sickmeyer of Fidelitas Development. As with other articles, the embedded links were added by me.
Buy Locally - In business and life, RECIPROCITY is key!
By now everyone is familiar with American Express’s well-crafted “buy local” campaigns. I think I could go so far as to say that most of us make some sort of an effort to buy locally and support other locally owned businesses. But what about brands? If brands want to truly enjoy success in a market, they need to invest at a local level.
Too many marketers look at things strictly from the immediate ROI, and they’re partially justified for doing so. But what if marketers started playing chess instead of checkers and made long-term investments into the communities they serve? I think the results would be most profitable. Reciprocity has long been evident in society-at-large. Recently a San Diego firefighter told a story on the news of a woman insisting on giving them all hugs. He tried to convince her otherwise, as they were dirty, sweaty, and recently removed from fighting the fires. She insisted, saying that it was the least she could do after they saved her home.
Given that most people feel obligated to support those that go out of their way to help them, why wouldn’t brands take more of an interest in helping their communities? Sure, funds are tight, but the last I checked it’s never rained money. Marketers and brands that decide to invest in their local communities by supporting events, youth sports and after school programs, and local charities will gain far more than brand awareness. They’ll gain a sense of belonging within their community, and those that they serve will be more inclined to patronize them.
No one has figured this out better than Chevrolet, which has figured out numerous ways to invest into local communities by partnering with its dealers to support youth programs and give back. If a national brand like Chevrolet can find the time and rationale to give back on a local level, there’s no reason local and regional organizations can’t do the same.

Breakfast all day! Thank You, McDonald's!
If you arrived at 10:31am (or perhaps 11:01am), it was too late!
But now, McDonald's is offering it's awesome breakfast (is it the whole breakfast menu, or just select items) all day!
Our local McDonald's had actually already started All Day Breakfast, a couple of weeks or so ago. I've been getting the Sausage McMuffin, without the meat.
McDonald's is a GREAT company (I wish that CEO was still there, though), and thanks to them, for this business decision!
I think I might do a McD run right now (I found at least one local store that's still open 24/7). Maybe not tonight. :-)

FREE Kraft Barbecue Sauce and Bounty Basic paper towels at Schnuck's
I still need to finish my series on how to legally steal from the stores. I hope you enjoyed the free television episodes that I've shared, in the mean time.
Right now, I wanted to quickly post about a deal going on at Schnuck's. This pertains to the Schnuck's in Springfield, IL - but the FREE Kraft BBQ Sauce deal should pertain to ALL Schnuck's stores. These stores are a great place to save money!!
The new Schnuck's ad has KRAFT BARBECUE SAUCE on sale for $1.00 each.
http://bcg.coupons.com/link/index/1312470001/15532/19094083 ↵↵ If you print that coupon, you will get it for FREE! (The coupon is for $0.55 OFF, which they will raise to $1.00 OFF.)
The coupon does say "Redeemable at Walmart" - However: It's a MANUFACTURER'S coupon, so Schnucks should accept it. Just in case, you might want to print this out. (That's a good printout to have with you anyway, for the future.)
In addition to the KRAFT BBQ SAUCE, you can get BOUNTY BASIC SINGLE paper towel rolls for FREE at Schnucks. They are currently for $1.00 each, and this coupon is for $0.50 OFF: http://bcg.coupons.com/link/index/1312470001/15532/18892072
Schnuck's will double the coupon, to $1.00 OFF.

Birthday Stress and Birthday Freebies: The Sequel
Last year for my birthday (when times were better), I had decided to try to semi-imitate the Perry sisters, and get free stuff!
http://savingsingles.blogspot.com/2014/06/birthday-stress-and-birthday-freebies.html
I ended up going to several places...
This year, like last year, I got a late start - and I was having severe problems too, sparked in part by current events.
However: After seeing Jurassic World, we went to Firehouse Subs (H/T Freebie Depot), to Carryout. We were thinking of Ruby Tuesday next, for dinner. We learned that Springfield's has closed, though. We decided on Denny's.
I will update and revise this post, when I'm at my laptop!

[I'll fill this part in, when I'm at a computer - Right now, I'm using my iPhone's web browser to blog this, while dad is driving to Denny's. This year, I've dragged my parents into the birthday freebie experience!]

Jurassic Coupons
On Jurassic Park, #NowPlaying on NBC TV, a character mentioned the issue of having "coupon days" at the Park, to allow normal people (not just the affluent) to visit.
Are you going to see Jurassic World?

Blogging with my phone, from FitClub West
(I'm publishing this blog entry with my iPhone; it'll have to be spruced up, later on.)
Came w/ dad to Fit Club; I don’t use it, but appreciate opportunity to get out.
Importing @Walgreens app onto this phone; Was on my last iPhone.
I've recently soured on @Walgreens (due to their support of a certain agenda), and have been doing less #couponing overall, but we're stopping at that store, after here. I'm preparing now to see what I might be able to get, via @Walgreens.
This relates to a Tweet I'd just favorited, earlier today:
I need to make progress on my blog, so I can share some of these tips on how to legally shoplift, and also provide commentary, on issues like Walgreens' misstep, which I alluded to above.
www.SingleSaving.com
Now checking @passion4savings, to see what I might be able to "steal" from Walgreens.
I might also see if iPoll could earn me something.

Layer 3: Store Coupons
HOW TO DO IT: The layout of LAYERS
As discussed below, the key to shopping for free (or for very little, or sometimes less than free!) is stacking LAYERS of savings, atop each other. I'll try not to make this too complicated (which can sometimes be a challenge for me :-)... I've realized it will require a separate blog entry for each Layer, however. And for some of this, it'll require a separate post for each "sub-Layer," too. I hope you find this easy to follow.
Stack of Savings Stuff:
LAYER #1: Weekly Store Sales
LAYER #2: Manufacturer's Coupons
- LAYER #2.1: Printable internet coupons
- LAYER #2.2: Newspaper coupons
- LAYER #2.3: Catalina Register Printout Coupons
- LAYER #2.4: Blinkies
- LAYER #2.5: Tearpads
- LAYER #2.6: Peelies
- LAYER #2.7: Phonebooks and more
LAYER #3 ~ Store Coupons
A Store Coupon is a coupon issued by the particular store. Most stores allow you to "stack" one Store Coupon with one Manufacturer's Coupon.
Key Term: Stacking, in couponing lingo, refers to layering your savings - using the methods in this blog series!
Target provides Store Coupons online, which you can print. (They also offer other "layers," but we'll get to those in future posts.)
TIP: One little-known couponing tip is that Meijer actually allows you to use those Target online coupons. You can stack a Target coupon with a Manufacturer's coupon - at Meijer!
However: The checkout personnel at Meijer might be unaware of this policy. You may have to get the manager, to do this.
Using this, I was able to get FREE Speed Stick Gear Deodorant at Meijer:
Sale price of item: $3.00
Manufacturer's Coupon: -$2.00
Target Coupon used at Meijer: -$1.00
Final Cost = $0.00
This is not the first time I've bought deodorant for FREE; that's a common item you can get, through couponing! There are many other items you can get, as well!
One more thing about Meijer: The store has an "mperks" program, which provides "digital coupons and rewards." I haven't looked into this, but info is available here.
Like Target, Dollar General also provides some coupons online, which you can print. Keep in mind that only the first several coupons at that link are Dollar General Store Coupons. The rest are the same Manufacturer's Coupons that you can get through Coupons.com.
Dollar General also provides Digital Coupons. I haven't looked into this, but these must be Store Coupons, which you can stack with Manufacturer's Coupons.
Kroger also has Digital Store Coupons available online. You apparently load these onto your Kroger card. Kroger used to double coupons... But alas, they no longer do. Perhaps this is because of the TLC show.
Whole Foods also has online Store Coupons available. There's no Whole Foods in my area; I've tried to visit the store when traveling, but it closed too early.
Is there a County Market in your area? Each month, County Market has a Penny Pinchers coupon book. What's really neat is when you can stack a Penny Pincher's coupon (which already provides a great low price) with a Manufacturer's Coupon!
Most couponing blogs don't deal with County Market. I plan to make this blog an exception to that.
Walgreens has a coupon book, each month. These books are available at the front of the store. You can stack a store coupon (from the book) with a manufacturer's coupon, on the same item!
Layer 2.7 - Phonebooks and more

LAYER #2.7 ~ Phonebooks and more
Phonebooks are one source for coupons.
My Coupon Database may not include Phonebook coupons. Check your local phonebook for this.
Magazines can also be a source for coupons. Walmart's ALL YOU Magazine is full of them (but not necessarily ones you would use).
Layer 2.6 - Peelies

LAYER #2.6 ~ Peelies
Like with Blinkies and Tearpads, also keep an eye out for those products on the store aisles that have coupons attached! These are called "Peelies" (for obvious reason :-). Keep in mind that you may have a situation in which some boxes of a product have peelies attached, while other boxes of the very same product don't have them.
TIP: Sometimes, the products for which Peelies are available also have printable internet coupons available. In that case, you should use the printed coupon, instead of the Peelie. Just save the Peelie for later; Peelies have later expiration dates, and could come in helpful later on.
(You probably won't be able to use the product's Peelie and the printed coupon on the same item, because both of those are Manufacturer's Coupons, and stores only allow one Manufacturer's Coupon per item.)
My Coupon Database might include the Peelie coupons, which are currently out. And here is a message board thread in which people have posted Peelie coupons, that they've found.
ETHICS POINT #1: Many people go to the stores, and when they see Peelies, they take them - without buying the item! I consider this unethical.
